Supernet and Military College of Signals Inaugurates Satellite Communications Lab
Military College of Signals (MCS) has established a Satellite Communications Lab at the MCS Main Campus in Rawalpindi. The inauguration ceremony of the lab is being held on December 09, 2009 at the MCS Main Campus Rawalpindi. Supernet Limited has assisted MCS in establishing a state-of-the-art Satellite Communications Laboratory to train students and carryout Research & Development activities in the filed of satellite communications. Expertise in Space Sciences and Satellite Communications are vital for the development of Science and Technology in Pakistan. Supernet and MCS being the leading institutions in their respective sectors have been working for the betterment of telecom and satellite communication services in Pakistan.

The Lab consists of two (2) Earth Stations that operate in the C-Band and a VSAT terminal operating in the Ku-Band.  This unique facility is a state-of-the-art training centre for the faculty, researchers and students to develop an in-depth understanding of all the major aspects of Satellite Communications Systems. Supernet Limited has also donated a VSAT terminal along with the relevant satellite capacity to demonstrate high speed Internet Access service via satellite.

The Lab has the facility to simulate data, voice and video services over the satellite.  The students will also be exposed to complete satellite system design by gaining practical experience in Satellite Link Budget analysis.

Supernet is also organizing two day long Seminars on Satellite Communications Systems Design in collaboration with the MCS. First of the two seminars is on the Fundamentals of Satellite Communications Systems Design and the second is on the Advanced Satellite Communications Systems Design.  Both the seminars will be conducted by Mr. Imran Malik, CEO Supernet Limited, who is an expert in the field of Satellite Communications
